Introduction

5G is here now, and new 5G NR devices and networks are being launched at an unprecedented rate — significantly faster and more globally than LTE during its first year of commercial deployment. As we race to the end of 2019 and into 2020, we expect an even more accelerated expansion of 5G in terms of commercial availability and technology reach. Afterall, we’re only at the beginning of the 5G era, and there is a rich roadmap of new 5G technologies coming in 3GPP Release 16, 17, and beyond. Not only do we expect 5G mobile experiences to get even better, but the continued 5G technology evolution will also expand mobile connectivity into many new services and industries.
